Who Needs the Olympics? We Have the Recreation District! : Ca?on ...

With the 2012 Summer Olympics well on their way, the thrill of athletic competition is alive in all of us. Fortunately, the Ca?on City Recreation District has a variety of recreational activities available to keep summer hopping.

Activities include adult softball, kickball, soccer, and sand volleyball. The kids can sign up for the fall soccer league and the Gary (Bubba) DiOrio football league, in addition to summer camps in volleyball, football, soccer, and gymnastics.

The Rec District ensures that whether you want to win the gold or just improve your game, sports are a great way to better your life.

?Active families and active adults always seem to enjoy life a little bit more,? Kyle Horne, programs director, said.

Even for those with ?in-progress? athletic skills, Horne posits that the Recreation District programs are a great place to get started.

?You don?t have to be the world?s greatest football player, soccer player, softball player? just have fun. It?s about getting out there and just enjoying the camaraderie that you have with your teammates, enjoying participating and being active,? Horne said.

To sign up for youth and adult sports, visit www.ccrec.org or visit the Recreation Center at 575 Ash Street. For questions, contact the Rec. District at (719) 275-1578.
