Extreme sports fan survives 120m fall after parachute fails to open

But the daredevil survived when a layer of snow cushioned his fall, with a faint ?puff? to be seen from above.

Footage of the man launching himself from a power line has been viewed by more than 200,000 people on video sharing website YouTube.

A video of the stunt, in Konkova, Russia, seems to show the man deploying his parachute but it fails to keep him airborne.

A puff of snow and a thud can be heard as he hits the surface, while his helpless friend looks on from above.

The unidentified jumper, a 28-year-old Russian man, broke his pelvis, both legs and vertebrae in the impact, but is said to have made a full recovery and is walking again after the fall in March, according to reports.

Last month, Jake Simkins, from London, died in Greece after falling from a cliff. He was on holiday in Zante when his parachute became snagged on a cliff as he jumped above Navagio beach on the island.
