Question about Windows 8

I'm a new Windows 8 user and I've decided to give Internet Explorer a chance again. Of all of them...so Firefox, Chrome, Comodo Dragon, IE 10 Is the best for me on my Surface Pro. When using it in tablet mode it's buttersmooth, while the others are clearly more laggy. I can choose between the desktop version of IE10 or the Metro version, I believe that's how it's called when you select IE10 as the default browser, right?

I must say that I am really liking the Metro version, very clean and great for the Surface, cause you can use the tablet or keyboard whenever you desire. The problem with the Metro version sadly begins when I want to use an add-blocker to remove those horribly annoying ads in Youtube videos. So I installed one, it works fine in the desktop version, but not in the Metro version. Please don't tell me MS decided to make the Metro IE10 not working with add-ons like a add or pop up blocker?
