Dot Earth Blog: An 'Eco-Chick' Describes Her Path to Blogging Success

A seasoned eco-blogger chats with students about online effectiveness

Here?s a glimpse inside my Pace University course ?Blogging a Better Planet.? This week, the students and I met via a Google Hangout on Air with Starre Vartan, the environment writer and creator of the popular women?s environmental blog Eco-Chick. (I was in San Francisco, the students were in and around Westchester County, N.Y. and Vartan was in New York City.)

She offers valuable insights for any young communicator eager to carve an online niche.

Watch the TEDx talk below for an additional layer of background on Vartan and her trajectory from environmental science, traditional journalism and advocacy into blogging on the interface of the environment, women?s issues, fashion and design.
